To celebrate the launch of the Canterbury Tales online exhibition, the James Hight ������Ƶapp����, ������Ƶapp����, hosted a physical display of several key books and objects. The exhibition took pride of place in specially designed cabinets on the main floor of the Central ������Ƶapp����, able to be accessed by students, staff, and members of the general public. Four pairs of items were presented to great success - a pair from each category of the online exhibtion. The items on show included a rare carved marble head, the Canterbury Sallust, Captain Cook's A Voyage Towards the South Pole and Round the World, and a Tongan carved female figure, as well as Francis Russell's "Waimakariri" Waltz and a brass gimballed candle. A specially autographed copy of Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass was exhibited with a wooden box and microscope slides. The following photos show the exhibition in situ.
