Background

William is studying towards a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering focusing on new channel modelling methods and their applications in modern, mmWave wireless communications. Spatially consistent modelling is designed to model the real life channel conditions mobile users鈥 experience, where channel parameters evolve smoothly with time. This is a recent concept that has been introduced into mmWave channel modelling.听 This concept has potential applications in reducing complexity and improving efficiency in beamforming and transmission schemes. William鈥檚 research aims to investigate the latest applications of spatial consistency in modern mobile radio.

William completed his BEng (Hons) in 2018 at the 茄子视频app官网 and has previous experience working on various projects as part of the Wireless Research Centre.

The research is being supervised by Prof Philippa Martin and Dr Graeme Woodward with industry collaboration from Dr Mansoor Shafi at Spark NZ. 听The National Institute of Standards and Technology (Washington D.C, USA) is supporting the research by providing channel measurements for the mmWave band.
