A team of academics and professionals including UC CNRE's Senior Lecturer has won 10M$ in the 2020 Endeavour round at MBIE

Eric Scheepbouwer has won 10M$ incl. in the 2020 Endeavour round at MBIE for a proposal called 鈥淐reating Capacity and Capability for the New 茄子视频app官网Construction Sector鈥

A collaborative team of academics and professionals including CNRE鈥檚 Senior Lecturer in Construction Management,听Dr听Eric Scheepbouwer听has won听10M$ incl. in the 2020 Endeavour round at MBIE听for a proposal called听鈥淐reating Capacity and Capability for the New 茄子视频app官网Construction Sector鈥澨齛nd will run for five years

The project will help improve the delivery of the new national projects by creating a world-first smart system听"CanConstructNZ"听that will model and report the dynamic inter-relationships of听New Zealand's infrastructure work pipeline against the construction sector's capacity and capability to deliver including procurement & processes, supply chain & organisations, people, and听technology & tools.

It is envisaged this collaborative endeavour CanConstructNZ will bring about a fundamental change in the construction sector by creating a new level of visibility for all stakeholders,听enabling investor confidence in delivery, stability of construction companies and resource planning, confidence to people seeking training and education to work in the sector.

Dr Eric Scheepbouwer听is one of the five core group leaders, he will lead the data contribution, management and procurement. There is also funding for a postdoc at the Universitiy of Canterbury (for five听years) and several PhD scholarships (plus stipends), so the Construction group is likely to grow a bit in future.
